Primitivo - so called for its early ripening has been found to be identical to that all American favourite: Zinfandel. At home in Apulia it produces rich earthy wines that are just ideal for outdoor cooking. Eventus Primitivo is a dark cherry red with a purple rim, the bouquet is intense with a rich fruitness hinting at blackberries and boysenberries with a herbal note in the background. A big flavoursome wine with a long fruit finish. This wine was fermented in stainless steel with a small part of the cuvée being matured in new oak barriques for up to six months. A superb accompaniment to grilled or roast meats and vegetables.
