Merlot's soft plummy character makes it one of the world's favourite red wines. Sourced from Apulia this grape ripens perfectly to produce luscious soft wines with great flavour. Eventus Merlot displays an intense dark red with an attractive ruby rim. The complex aroma blends black cherry, currant and cedar with tea leaf notes. This wine has a very pleasing velvety mouth feel with a powerful fruit driven finish. This wine was fermented in stainless steel with a small part of the cuvée being matured in new oak barriques for up to six months. A superb accompaniment to simply prepared beef and lamb dishes especially roasts. However, its mellow nature makes it ideal with rich tomato based pasta sauces and mildly spicy foods.
