Chianti: one could almost say it is Tuscan for Wine! Made with Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes in the hills of Tuscany between Florence and Siena. Chianti is definitely Italy's best known red wine. Eventus Chianti displays a lovely bright ruby red of medium intensity, the aroma is delicate yet enticing with notes of strawberry and violets. The flavour profile of this Chianti is fruity, with a medium body. The acidity, soft tannins and alcohol all balance nicely. The finish has a pleasing, softly tannic note that makes it so good with food. This wine was fermented in stainless steel with a small part of the cuvée being matured in new oak barriques for up to six months. A sensational match to hearty, home cooking that makes good use of herbs like rosemary and thyme.
