Cabernet Sauvignon is definitely the world's favourite red grape variety. Like Chardonnay it is great at transmitting "terroir" whilst maintaining a distinct and immediately recognisable aroma and flavour profile. Made from grapes grown in Apulia in Italy's warm south, where perfect growing conditions, contribute to make this wine an instant crowd pleaser. Eventus Cabernet displays a deep cherry red colour that broadens to a vibrant, ruby rim. The aroma is a wonderful mix of bell peppers, black current with Mediterranean notes of green olives and anise, there is also a subtle note of cloves. This is a full bodied wine with a lot of fruit, mouth filling and tasty with a lovely cleansing tannic finish that pairs well with rich food. This wine was fermented in stainless steel with a small part of the cuvée being matured in new oak barriques for up to six months. A great food wine that can accompany a whole range from simple meat dishes to rich flavoured sauces.
